Wyken Croft Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we believe that all children have the right to be happy, to be safe and to learn.
There may be occasions where there is a need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, without parents/carers prior knowledge, when there are concerns about a child's welfare. our first concern is always the child's well-being and we have a duty to act to protect the child at all times. Such information sharing may result in a formal referral, which could prompt visits from Children's Services and/or the Police.
All school staff are trained in safeguarding and Child Protection and are trained to look out for signs of abuse or neglect and are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Safeguarding children and young people is everyone's responsibility
